Terms of Service

1. What QAM Labs is — and is not

QAM Labs is a practice and self-assessment tool. It provides timed mental arithmetic, probability, trading-simulation, and reasoning exercises intended to help you build and measure skills that are commonly tested in quantitative, trading, banking, and consulting interviews.

QAM Labs is explicitly not any of the following:

• A guarantee of interview performance, job offers, employment, or any career outcome.
• Affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated on behalf of any employer, recruiter, bank, fund, trading firm, or consultancy. We do not reproduce any company's interview materials and we do not claim to know or replicate any specific company's hiring process.
• A provider of financial, investment, trading, tax, or legal advice. Content on the Service — including anything concerning expected value, position sizing, options, valuation, or markets — is educational material for interview preparation only. It is not a recommendation to make any financial decision, and you should not rely on it as such.
• An accredited educational institution or a provider of certification.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live, to hold an account. By registering you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

3. Accounts

• An account is required to play. Scores are recorded against your account so they can be ranked and tracked over time.
• You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Tell us promptly at qamlabsinc@gmail.com if you believe it has been compromised.
• One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to gain additional free plays, to occupy multiple leaderboard positions, or to evade a suspension is prohibited.
• Do not share, sell, transfer, or lend your account or its credentials to anyone else.
• Each account receives a randomly generated anonymous handle used for public display. We may change a handle if it is being used to impersonate someone or is otherwise inappropriate.

4. The Service is free

QAM Labs is provided free of charge. There is no paid tier, no subscription, and no purchase to make. We do not collect payment details, and we do not ask you for a payment method at any point. If anyone asks you to pay for access to QAM Labs, it is not us.

The Service is supported by advertising displayed on the site. We may change how the Service is funded in future — including introducing paid features — but any such change would apply going forward, would be announced in advance, and would never retroactively charge you for use that was free at the time.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to do any of the following:

• Use bots, scripts, macros, automation, browser extensions, or any automated means to play games, generate scores, or interact with the Service.
• Manipulate scores or leaderboard standings by any means, including exploiting bugs, intercepting or modifying requests to our servers, or submitting scores that were not produced by genuinely playing.
• Circumvent, disable, or attempt to defeat any access control, rate limit, or other technical restriction.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, crawl, or systematically extract content, game logic, or questions from the Service.
• Reproduce, redistribute, publish, or resell any part of the Service or its content, including question content and solutions, whether or not for commercial gain.
• Interfere with or place unreasonable load on the Service, including denial-of-service attempts, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system, account, or data.
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to infringe anyone's rights.

We may investigate suspected violations and may suspend or terminate accounts, remove scores, or restrict access in response, with or without notice.

6. Scores, percentiles, and leaderboards

• Percentiles and rankings are calculated live from recorded attempts and will change as more people play. A percentile is a comparison against other users of this Service only. It is not a measure of your ability relative to any candidate pool, and it does not predict interview outcomes.
• Leaderboards display your anonymous handle only, never your name or email.
• We may reset, recalculate, adjust, or remove scores — individually or across a whole game — where we believe they resulted from cheating, automation, a bug, or a change to how a game is scored. Game rules, scoring formulas, timers, and question counts may change, and past scores may not remain comparable after such a change.

7. Intellectual property

The Service and everything in it — including the software, design, text, question content, solutions, explanations, the QAM Labs name, and the QAM Labs logo — is owned by QAM Labs or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property law.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service for your own individual interview preparation. This licence does not permit any commercial use, redistribution, or use of our content to build or train a competing product or dataset. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

8. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties including Vercel, Neon, our advertising partners, and (optionally) Google sign-in. Their services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions. Any links to third-party sites are provided for convenience and are not endorsements.

9. Availability and changes to the Service

We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service — including individual games and features — at any time. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, error-free, or that any particular game or feature will remain available. We may perform maintenance that makes the Service temporarily unavailable.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.

We do not warrant that the Service will improve your interview performance or produce any career result, that content is free of errors, or that questions and solutions are accurate or complete. Question content is written for practice and necessarily simplifies real-world situations.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, QAM Labs will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or opportunity — including any lost job opportunity or failed interview — arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us in the twelve months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) fifty US dollars.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages. Where that is the case, the above exclusions and limitations apply only to the extent permitted, and nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless QAM Labs and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and reasonable legal fees arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account or access, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, if we suspect fraud or abuse, or if we discontinue the Service. On termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law — continue to apply.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. You and QAM Labs agree that the state and federal courts located in California will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. Nothing in this section deprives a consumer of the protection of mandatory law in their country of residence.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Where a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we will take reasonable steps to notify account holders. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

16. General

• Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and QAM Labs regarding the Service, and supersede any prior understanding.
• Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in force and the unenforceable provision is applied to the maximum extent permitted.
• No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
• Assignment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
• Force majeure. We are not liable for failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
